Harassment Architecture

Mike Ma's cult 2019 novel, or novella, or rant, depending on who you ask. A first-person monologue from a young man raging against modern American life: the airports, the consumer loops, the screen addiction, the whole default setting of contemporary existence. It circulated online before it was ever properly in print, and by the time physical copies existed, it already had a readership that most small-press authors never get.

What It Actually Is

This isn't a conventional novel. There's no real plot. No character development in the workshop sense. What there is: voice. A narrator who sounds like he grew up on the internet, absorbed its worst instincts, and decided to write it all down before doing something about it. The prose is clipped, furious, and occasionally funny in a way that makes you uncomfortable for laughing. People compare it to Kaczynski. People compare it to Céline. Neither comparison is quite right, but both tell you something about the register it operates in.

Who It's For

If you already know who Mike Ma is, you don't need this description. If you don't, this is one of the few genuinely underground books to surface in the last decade. It won't show up on any bestseller list. That's part of the point.
