Homer, in the Robert Fagles translation — the one most American readers encountered in high school and most classicists respect. The Penguin Deluxe edition has the french flaps, the deckle edges, and the Bernard Knox introduction that alone is worth the price. If you've only read the one for class, you haven't really read it yet.
