Evola's Core Trilogy

Julius Evola wrote dozens of books, but three of them form a coherent sequence. Read in order, they move from cosmological diagnosis to political strategy to personal survival. This bundle collects all three in their standard English editions from Inner Traditions.

What's Included

Revolt Against the Modern World (Inner Traditions, Hardcover). First published in Italian in 1934. Evola's cosmological frame: the doctrine of the four ages (Gold, Silver, Bronze, Iron), the sacred foundations of traditional civilizations, and the case that modernity represents not progress but a prolonged collapse. The book draws on Hindu, Buddhist, Roman, and Nordic sources to construct a counter-history of the West. This is where Evola lays out his understanding of the Kali Yuga and the role of the warrior caste in opposing dissolution.

Men Among the Ruins (Inner Traditions, Paperback). Written in 1953, eight years after the end of the Second World War. Evola surveys the political wreckage of postwar Europe and asks what, if anything, can be rebuilt. The book functions as a field manual for traditionalist political action: critiques of democracy, nationalism, and economic liberalism are paired with positive proposals for an organic state. Written when the rubble was still visible.

Ride the Tiger (Inner Traditions, Hardcover). Published in 1961. Where Men Among the Ruins addressed collective political action, Ride the Tiger addresses the individual. Evola's argument is that when the dissolution of the modern world has gone far enough, the "differentiated man" must learn to ride the forces of destruction rather than oppose them directly. The book covers existentialism, nihilism, music, drugs, sexuality, and the dissolution of the ego, all from the standpoint of someone who has no intention of surrendering to any of it.
