Houellebecq's 2015 novel, published the day of the Charlie Hebdo massacre. A near-future France where a Muslim Brotherhood candidate wins the presidency with Socialist support, and one disaffected professor of Huysmans decides he could maybe live with it. Funnier than it sounds, and the cleanest single portrait of late French decadence anyone's written.
