What's Included

What Is To Be Done? by V.I. Lenin (1902) is the organizational manual: the case for a disciplined vanguard party to lead the working class, against the spontaneism of the trade-union movement.

Foundations of Leninism by Joseph Stalin (1924) is Stalin's codification of Lenin's thought into a systematic doctrine, delivered as lectures at Sverdlov University shortly after Lenin's death.

The Little Red Book (Quotations from Chairman Mao) by Mao Zedong collects the sayings that became the catechism of the Chinese Cultural Revolution. Compact, aphoristic, designed for mass distribution.

The Revolution Betrayed by Leon Trotsky (1936) is the exile's indictment of Stalin's Soviet Union: the argument that the revolution had been captured by a bureaucratic caste and turned into its opposite.

Fascism: What It Is and How to Fight It by Leon Trotsky collects his writings on fascism as a mass movement of the petty bourgeoisie, and the Marxist case for a united front against it.
